Hi! My name is Becky Diroll and I am from the United States of America. I grew up in Ohio, went to university in Texas, and then lived outside Chicago before coming to China. I also received a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Lee University in Tennessee. I enjoy photography, reading books, playing sports, and traveling. I have been teaching English in China for more than three years now and have lived in Ningxia and Jiangxi provinces before coming to Qinhuangdao. Chinese culture is fascinating and in each region I have experienced new and unique characteristics of the country. It is an exciting time to be living in China and I am pleased to be teaching here in beautiful Qinhuangdao.

My name is Hannah DeVries. I am from Illinois in the United States. I graduated from OralRobertsUniversity in Oklahoma in May 2007 with a bachelor's degree in English Education, which means I actually really like teaching. Being here in China has been quite the adventure already, and I am excited to spend the year here in Qinhuangdao. When I am not enlightening the minds of my students, I enjoy reading, listening to music, making art, meeting new people, and playing my mini harmonica. Basically, I'm really exciting.

My name is Heather Lausch, and I am from Southern California in the USA. I graduated from Point Loma University, San Diego in May of 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree of Science with Honors in Mathematics. During my four years in college, I was able to study abroad in London for 6 months as well as do humanitarian work in Haiti for 1 month. Those trips sparked my interest in learning and studying about new and different cultures. I visited China with my family a year ago, and I fell in love with the people and the culture, so I decided to come to China for a year and teach English. I am thrilled for the opportunity to share my knowledge about American language and culture with my eager students. I am also excited to learn from my students and hear what they have to teach me!

My Name is Kelcy Lee. I am from the state of Tennessee in the United States. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005. I first came to Asia in 2004 for one month to teach English. I enjoyed it very much. Now I have returned to Asia to the beautiful country of China. I am excited to live in a new place and to broaden my cross cultural experiences. Hello! This is Mike Goffman and I have traveled to China from Minnesota, United States, chasing my dream of teaching english in Asia. I have fallen in love with China, its people, and its culture ever since I arrived here in August 2007. I can't wait to see what the year has in store for myself and the students of this school. When i am not teaching, I enjoy playing sports such as basketball, ice hockey, ping pong and snowboarding to name a few, and also practicing my mandarin with the students. I also love listening to music, watching movies, fishing, and going to the beach for a swim. This year my hope is that I can impact the lives of the students as much as they have already impacted mine.

My name is Myron Marston. I come from Seattle, Washington in the United States. I graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Apparently this means I am qualified to teach English even though I had never taught before. Although I have traveled a lot in the past, this is my first time to come to China, and I am really enjoying it. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy watching movies, playing board games and computer games, reading, composing music and developing computer software.

I am Preston Lee from the United States. I lived in the state of Tennessee where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Tennessee. Ever since I graduated in 2005 I have been planning to come to China. Although our cultures are very different, I think that there is a lot that I can learn from living in China for a year. I anticipate a great experience here and look forward to the year ahead.

My name is Richard. I come from Great Britain and I lived in Germany for nearly 22 years. I have been teaching here since August 2006 I find the work here in China very interesting. Howdy! My name is Sara E. Webb and I am a 2006 graduate of OklahomaStateUniversity. My major is Child and Family Services, as well as Spanish. I am a proud citizen of the state of Oklahoma, which established its statehood in 1907, so we are excited to celebrate our 100th birthday this year. In the previous summer I had the opportunity to intern with Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy, which provided a program focusing on refugee children and English as a foriegn language. Its a pleasure to once again be surrounded by international students and such a great staff.

My name is Simon Lee and I come from London. I am an oral English teacher in QHDFLC and this is my second time to be teaching here. I am 27 years old and this time I come here with the purpose of improving my Chinese and Japanese in my free time.

I received a Bachelor's degree in interpretation and translation from Algiers University in Algiers, Algeria. I also received another degree in Physics from USTHB in Algiers. I have worked as an interpreter for an Algerian-Italian company and with many Chinese companies. I speak fluent English, Arabic, French and Italian. In my free time, I like reading classical literature, novels of war history, sciences, and oriental cultures, books about travel to exotic worlds filled with passion and adventure, traveling, practicing sports: Tae Kwon Do, folk dancing, volleyball. Es ist mir eine besondere Ehre, als erster Deutscher am QFLPC unterrichten zu duerfen. Der Fokus meiner universitaeren Ausbildung lag in der Informationswissenschaft und im Design von Lernsoftware, so dass ich mich in Berlin viele Jahre mit der Konzeption und Redaktion von Online- und Printmedien befasst habe. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt innerhalb meines Medienpaedagogik-Studiums an der Freien Universitaet Berlin war die tiefgreifende Beschaeftigung mit der "Situationspaedagogik" von Prof. Juegen Zimmer, der seine Erkenntnisse bereits in den 1980er Jahren in laendlichen Alphabetisierungsprogrammen in Lateinamerika gewonnen hat und jetzt in Thailand eine eigene Schule betreibt (www.school-for-life.org). Zur beruflichen Weiterbildung habe ich mich von 2002 - 2004 intensiv mit der "Entrepreneurship Education" des Berliner Prof. Guenter Faltin befasst, der gemeinsam mit dem Friedensnobelpreistraeger Prof. Mohammad Yunus an der Verbreitung der gesellschaftlichen Bedeutung einer "Erziehung zur unternehmerischen Selbststaendigkeit" arbeitet (www.stiftung-entrepreneurship.de). Als Deutschlehrer habe ich hier nun die einmalige Gelegenheit, mein Wissen zur Verbesserung der praktischen umgangssprachlichen Kenntnisse meiner Studenten einzusetzen. Doch vor allem moechte ich sie darauf vorbereiten und dazu ermutigen, ihr Deutschstudium in ihrer beruflichen Zukunft bei deutsch-chinesischen Wirtschaftsbeziehungen zu nutzen.
